Sales

Art of the possible. Not just a sales gig,  getting everyone stoked on bikes is your main mission.


Service

Wrenching and obsessing over parts. Whether your the face of service or the tech being the scenes. You're in charge of making sure bikes new and used are in good operating condition.

E-Commerce

All things logistics. You ensure the movement of products and orders goes as smoothly as possible. Follow up will be your name to fame.

Experienced Bicycle Mechanic - Full Time

Northstar Bicycle Co is actively looking for a full-time Experienced Bicycle Mechanic who is looking to take the next step in their career to join our team. Part-time or flexible hours would be considered for the right applicant with significant experience. 

About Us

We're a locally-owned and operated full-service year-round bike store nestled in the East Kootenays in Cranbrook BC. Whether you’re getting back on a bike for the first time in decades or you’re an everyday cyclist, we’re your local source for all things bicycle. Conveniently located near the Cranbrook Community Forest trail network and Northstar Rails to Trails, we are fully stocked with bikes and gear from top brands providing Service, Sales, and Rentals.

About You

We're looking for an experienced mechanic. We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • have a minimum of 2 years experience as a bike mechanic in a bike shop (more details below),
  • completed a certification/training as a bicycle mechanic (preferred),
  • are a passionate bicycle mechanic looking to further your career and continue to grow and learn,
  • believe in providing exceptional customer service with your quality work and positive attitude,
  • want to work in a supportive and fun team environment.


We're looking for a mechanic with:

  • Strong repair experience with a variety of bikes - road, hybrid, mountain and full suspension.
  • Strong experience diagnosing and repairing e-bikes an asset.
  • Knowledge of the latest bike equipment and technologies.
  • Experience in wheel building, suspension services and brake bleeding.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


Our ideal mechanic will also:

  • Have demonstrated organization and time management skills.
  • Show good communication skills, oral and written.
  • Be willing to assist other mechanics with more technical jobs.
  • Check the quality of bike builds by assemblers and provide constructive and positive feedback.
  • Work closely with other senior team members to make suggestions for changes and improvements to the service area, where required.
  • Have experience advising on and ordering required stock.
  • Have experience writing out and scheduling work orders.
  • Assemble bikes when required.

Motivated Service Advisor - Full Time

Northstar Bicycle Co is actively looking for a full-time Service Advisor who is looking to take the next step in their career to join our team. Part-time or flexible hours would be considered for the right applicant with significant experience.

  • have a minimum of 2 years experience in the bike industry or another service advisor role (more details below),
  • completed a certification/training related to bicycles such as S-Tec, Trek U, etc. (preferred),
  • are passionate about all things bikes looking to further your career and continue to grow and learn,
  • believe in providing exceptional customer service with your quality work and positive attitude,
  • want to work in a supportive and fun team environment.


We're looking for a Service Advisor with:

  • Have an intermediate repair experience with a variety of bikes - road, hybrid, mountain and full suspension.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing e-bikes an asset, but we will train.
  • Knowledge of computers including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.
  • Adept mechanical aptitude at diagnosing problems explained by beginner and advanced customers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


Our ideal Service Advisor will also:

  • Have demonstrated organization and time management skills.
  • Show good communication skills, oral and written.
  • Be willing to assist sales advisors with bicycle add-ons and technical questions.
  • Check the quality of bike builds by assemblers and provide constructive and positive feedback.
  • Work closely with other senior team members to make suggestions for changes and improvements to the service area, where required.
  • Have experience advising on and ordering required stock.
  • Have experience writing out and scheduling work orders.
  • Assemble bikes when required.

We're looking for a Sales Advisor with:

  • Retail sales experience in a bike shop (preferred) or sales experience and a strong passion for bikes .
  • Knowledge of the latest mountain, road, commuter and e-bikes.
  • Passion for cycling.
  • Thrives in a busy environment.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Customer service experience.
  • Want to work in a supportive and fun team environment.


Our ideal Sales Advisor will also:

  • Have demonstrated organization and time management skills.
  • Show good communication skills, oral and written.
  • Be willing to assist other sales advisors with the customer experience.
  • Complete floor checks often ensuring bikes are tagged, product is stocked, and the store is clean.
  • Work closely with other senior team members to make suggestions for changes and improvements to the service area, where required.
  • Have experience advising on and ordering required stock.
  • Have experience with Ascend or any other point of sale inventory software.
  • Make delicious coffees for customers (huge pro if you can make latte art!)
