Kootenay Bike Swap is a single day event hosted by JCI Kootenay, where you can come and consign a bicycle or purchase one. All proceeds go to JCI Kootenay, a local non-profit organization. We want to provide people a safe and hassle free way to sell their bike, rather than have people come to their home. The cost to consign your bike is a $15 sellers fee and 15% commission. The event takes aim at selling quality name brand bikes and not bikes from big box stores. We expect bikes to be for sale between $100-$6000
Who's JCI
JCI Kootenay is a group of young people, aged 18 to 40, who live and work in the East Kootenay. Our members believe in the importance of creating positive change within our communities and the world. JCI Kootenay is affiliated with Junior Chamber International (JCI), a membership-based nonprofit organization of roughly 200,000 young people aged 18 to 40 in 5,000 communities and more than 100 countries around the world. Through various local, national and international projects and events. Selling a bike
Bring your bicycle in clean, safe, ready to ride condition during the morning drop off
We will have bicycle technicians there to ensure that bikes are in a safe operable state. They will not be able to perform repair.
If you do not have a price in mind we will assist you in determining an ideal sale price.
You will pay us a $15 rack fee per bike to put them into the sale.
From there our experienced staff will handle the selling of the bike
We Sold your bike now what? In the following two weeks we will send you a cheque or e-transfer the money, less 15%.
What your bike doesn't sell? Don't worry, but if it doesn't bike pickup is at 3:30
Buying a bike
Show up between 12:00 and 3:00 and pick your bike. We will have staff available to help size and assist you with finding a great ride.
All bikes will be inspected for basic safety and function
All major forms of payment will be accepted.
Ride off into the sunset!
